Honi's a man now!

To those of you who don't know us, several years ago Steve and I trekked some 800 miles to Maryland to take possession of  a new direction. There, we picked up a gentleman of a horse named, Pleasant Run Crèam Man, and his bride , Velvet Moon Frost. Velvet was heavy in foal and we had faith that she would produce us a Perlino stud colt with EE,  the double black gene. We knew it was a possibility, since both parents carried one black gene. Of course we knew the foal would have two Agouti genes because both parents did. Our prayers were answered when Honi arrived on April 15, 2012.  However, our celebration wasn't complete until on 5/10/12, when Honi's DNA results arrived declaring him AACrCrEE!!! After breeding horses for over 15 years, with no control of what color they would be, we now had a solution. Honi has the DNA to produce 100% buckskin color out of all red, black and bay mares! I found it fitting to begin my blog today as Honi serviced his first mare this morning, and acted the gentleman as we know his father has been. The Lord willing, so begins our new direction, promising supreme buckskin walkers! Great horse don't just happen. We have been blessed with the years of experience and the mares to deliver this promise and will strive to be a trusted breeder that you can bank on. We are looking forward to many years of making lots of pretty horses, but most importantly lots of great new friends.
